Stony Plain Road's businesses have served this community for generations. LRT construction means big disruption — but these shops, restaurants and studios need you now more than ever. Choose local and help ensure they're here for the future you're building.

Talking Walls: Reimagining Public Spaces in Jasper Place

This summer, SPRBA is partnering with YEG Ambassadors and the Jasper Place Arts Society on Talking Walls — a community art project taking a fresh look at public space in Jasper Place.

Local artists are running collaborative sessions where anyone can drop in, share ideas and help shape what the neighbourhood's walls say about where we live. It's running at various spots along the road through the summer.

Area Vision

Stony Plain Road has been the heart of this neighbourhood longer than most people realise. Before it became part of Edmonton, this stretch was the main street of Jasper Place — its own municipality, with its own mayor and a lot of local pride. That sense of place never really left.

The businesses here have been through a lot over the decades. They're still here. Now, with the Valley Line West LRT coming through, the road is going through its biggest change in a generation. Construction is disruptive — there's no point pretending otherwise. But once it's done, Stony Plain Road will be one of the most connected corridors in the city: easier to get to, easier to walk, and worth the trip from anywhere in Edmonton.

We're in the middle of that right now. Rally for the Road is about making sure the businesses that built this community get to be part of what comes next.
