ABOUT THE ARTISTS

Aliza

Aliza is a singer, songwriter, and producer based out of Edmonton, Canada. Known for her candidness, Aliza mixes songwriting reminiscent of Alicia Keys, with the intuitive and improvisational style of Thelonious Monk, iconic harmonies of '90s R&B, and East Indian rhythms. While Aliza is also a social worker, her music is strongly rooted in telling stories of adversity and perseverance faced by herself and others. Dedicated to uplifting marginalized voices, Aliza runs Secret Garden Studio in Edmonton — a sanctuary where creatives can find safety and confidence that then brings their music to life. Performing alongside artists like Tea Fannie, Aurah Ariko, Ezeada, Oozeela, Maya and Jananie, Aliza has had the opportunity to experience performing from a myriad of perspectives. This has inspired her to begin producing live shows for herself and other local artists through Neutral Ground monthly events.
