Job Opportunity: Marketing Coordinator

We are looking for a strategic, smart, and sassy individual to join our team as a Marketing Coordinator.  As a multi-faceted communications professional, you are responsible for developing creative and engaging marketing, and consumer campaigns to drive our brand. You weave engaging stories and innovative campaigns matching our passion for local business and place-building. 

You will champion www.rallyfortheRoad.com; build a new consumer targeted strategy; and create content and campaigns supporting our business improvement area during a major infrastructure development. 

Ideally you have experience in marketing and communications or are a true grinder. Currently this position is structured as part time with plans to develop into full time within a year - great for a parent re-emerging into the workforce or a gig worker wanting to still make rent and have a secret night life. 

 

Responsibilities:

1) External Communications & Marketing

  • Sets and elevates the tone and brand activation of SPR;
  • Understanding and activating multi-channel communications tools and platforms from creation, development, activation, and evaluation;
  • Planning, writing, and editing variety of communications materials and deepening audience engagements including web-based, social media, public relations, and targeted content;
  • Seeks innovative ways to broaden the reach and awareness of SPR;

 

2) Digital & Print Media Coordination

  • Management of website and social media monitoring and engagement ensuring the associations; 
  • Coordination and monitoring of marketing campaigns and responding to DM and inquiries within the messaging and branding of SPR BIA;
  • Responsible to developing and cultivating positive relations with media, influencers, communications specialists;
  • Working with various vendors and contractors to ensure our communications and marketing strategies are results-driven and impactful;
  • Assisting in the creations and circulation of positive and proactive content;
  • Identifying trends and developing media relations strategies to support our brand and area development;

 

 3) Brand Marketing & Activation

  • Ensuring consistency in all brand messaging and communications and brand growth and evolution;
  • Developing creative results-orientated marketing and communications to deliver on our brand promise;
  • Forward looking and strategic planning to elevate and activate our brand awareness and familiarity to locally neighborhoods and  Capital region consumers. 

 

Outcomes & Measurers

Annual and Quarterly goals will be established in collaboration with SPR strategic plans, activities, and budgetary areas. Direct report to ED.

As a membership-focused organization working on-site and within central-west Edmonton limited evenings and weekend work will be required from time-to-time.

 

Skills & Knowledge: 

  • You are a team player and you understand the value of working in a small team with varying duties and collaborations, you are ready and willing to support the whole team at times;
  • Post-secondary degree or diploma in marketing, communications, public relations, arts & cultural management, or business; 
  • Experience and working knowledge of social media platforms, Wordpress, MailerLite,  and photography and graphic design and a Google-based environment. 
  • Well-developed project management skills to successfully manage multiple projects;
  • Exceptionally strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Comfortable in working in an environment with a small team and a constantly changing environment. 

 

Compensation:

  • $25,500 - $31,500 annually, 24 hrs/week 
  • Includes health, dental and prescription  benefits after three months.
  • Flex-time within an on-site work environment.
